The 60’s & Better Program offers a range of social, physical and educational activities for seniors in our community.
CDCC’s 60’s program is a great way to meet new and like minded people in fun settings.
Regular activities include weekly morning tea & yoga/relaxation sessions.
Research has identified action steps we can take to maintain our health and function as we get older.
Improving our diet, increasing physical activity, getting health screenings and managing risk factors for disease, all actions which may influence different areas of health.

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is pleased to be hosting a Census Information Session held at the Cooktown District Community Centre
This session is an opportunity to:
✅ Learn why completing the Census is so important for our community.
✅ Understand how your personal information is kept private and secure.
✅ Find out how Census data helps inform funding, services, housing and community planning.
✅ Ask questions and receive assistance with completing your Census form online or by paper.
Every person counted helps build a clearer picture of our community and ensures Cooktown and surrounding communities receive the support and services they need.

We are seeking a passionate Children & Family Support Worker to support children (0–8 years) and their families across Cooktown and surrounding communities.
This rewarding role provides early intervention support, case management, parenting support, outreach and supported playgroups, helping children get the best possible start in life.
We're looking for someone who has:
• Qualifications and/or experience in Community Services, Social Work, Education or a related field
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
• A current Queensland Driver Licence, Blue Card, National Police Check and First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain)
Travel to surrounding communities is a regular part of this role. This is a permanent part-time role.

• 📱 Your screen turning on automatically
This may occur even if your device is on silent, Do Not Disturb, or the volume is turned down.
If you think it may not be safe for you or someone you care about to receive the alert, consider turning your device off or placing it in aeroplane mode beforehand (you can still use Wi-Fi while in aeroplane mode).
